PATH processes are close to my heart. PATH (a person-centred planning process innovated by Jack Pearpoint and Marsha Forrest) empowers individuals and organizations to move towards their big dreams with clearly practical steps. I’ve been co-facilitating PATH processes since 2009. More recently I have had the distinct privilege of facilitating with Shelley Nessman to train others to be PATH facilitators, with the support of Diverse Family Roots Society and other East and West Kootenay organizations.
PATH is deeply personal process that begins with dreaming big and ends with first steps towards that dream. It leverages and builds on the existing support systems in an individual’s life, and ensures clarity for an entire support team or staff. It’s action oriented, practical, and strengths-based.
Who is PATH for?
Individuals and/or organizations or teams that are navigating significant changes or transitions. Life is complicated! PATH does not ignore that complexity and creates a holistic framework for the future. PATHs can cover 6 months, 3 years, 5 years, or the lifetime of a project.
Below is a video by North Star Paths that gives a great overview of the process:
Other Planning Processes:
I’ve had the privilege of working with many organizations to design their futures through different kinds of planning, including strategic planning, SWOT/SOAR analysis, and custom project management. Leaning primarily on visual facilitation practices that promote engagement, processes are designed to capture the particular needs of the client individuals or organizations.
My background is in use and facilitation of Liberating Structures and pedagogically/andragogically grounded practices that endeavour to leverage the group’s knowledge and capacity to make real change. Processes are more non-hierarchical, creative, and out-of-the box.
Experiences can be designed for online, in-person, or hybrid/blended gatherings.
Feel free to contact me for more information about PATH and/or other planning processes, and the pricing structure for this work. I’m happy to do a free, initial 1/2 hour consultation to see if this might be a good fit for your needs.
